You’ve stumbled across the online home of youth ministry at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Dallas.
Now that you’re here, why not take a look around?
The first thing you’ll want to do is sign up for our e-mail newsletter. That way you can stay connected with everything we’re doing!
Our youth ministry programs are divided into three age groups, and each one has its own blog. Rite-13 is for 6th and 7th graders. Sealed and Sent Forth is a class for 8th and 9th graders who are interested in pursuing confirmation–the rite in the Episcopal church where people who were baptized as infants take adult responsibility for their own baptismal promises. And The Seekers is our senior high group for 9th through 12th graders. Why not visit their blogs and see if anybody has posted anything interesting lately?
For more about what we stand for, click “About.”
Hospitality to friends and strangers is part of what it means to follow Jesus. St. Benedict said, “Let everyone who comes be received as Christ.” Whoever you are, wherever you are on the spiritual journey, we’re glad you’re here at our page. Thanks for being Christ to us!

Ten Ascension youth joined a bunch from Annunciation, Lewisville, and Transfiguration, Dallas, yesterday to bring some new life to the CCA Community Garden in Lewisville. We spread mulch … built benches … painted and stained fences and picnic tables … basically tons of awesome work was done.
CCA grows fresh produce in this garden. People can sign up to have a plot of their own … and there is also community produce that goes to the CCA food bank. Feeding the hungry–that’s what our 30 Hour Famine project is all about.
Nice work, y’all. Now just two more weeks until the Famine!

Check out the pics from yesterday’s big gathering at Transfiguration. We had about 50 people there for food and other mischief. If you weren’t there, you missed out–but don’t worry, you can still get registered for the Famine! Just turn in your registration form and fee to Stephen to get a Student Kit and T-shirt … then you are on your way to raising money to impact the lives of children around the world for the better.
Our next get-together is a big outdoor service project in Lewisville on Sunday, March 29!

last Friday night nine intrepid Ascension youth and their fearless adult leaders braved the trip all the way to Bent Tree Bible Church in Carrollton to go to a free improv comedy show put on by the Christian improv troupe HimProv (yes … we thought the name was remarkably inventive as well).
not only was it a chance to explore the most massive church most of us had ever seen, we also ate tasty food and saw hilarious comedy! what a winning combination!
